PEOPLE-POWERED MARKETS:  SA BAYANG UMAASENSO, SAMA-SAMA TAYO
An Exhibit of Value Chains that Work for People
NBC Tent,  The Fort, Fort Bonifacio Global City,  February 22-23, 2011

The exhibit was a joint project of the Ninoy and Cory Aquino Foundation, the PinoyME Consortium, Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP), Makati Business Club, and the Management Association of the Philippines.

On February 22, the first day of the exhibit, the 5th Anniversary of the PinoyME Foundation was celebrated. It was attended by top executives of the movers and shakers in the industry as well as the heads of social enterprises in the country. The event was graced by none other than President Benigno Aquino III and Viel Aquino-Dee, children of the former President Cory Aquino.

The 2-day exhibit showcased how private corporations and development organizations operate in the value chain to bring microentreprenuers into the mainstream market. It highlighted new dimensions of People Power which were fostered by former Pres. Cory Aquino – how it has contributed to scaling up microentrepreneurship in the country and how it plans to give a fresh perspective to the movement and further pursue its founder’s vision.
